Gordon Poultney Album
National Service 1976 - Internal Affairs
View from the Keep looking directly East towards a feature that was known as the
Bull's Nose.
Note our attempts to grow veggies just outside the wall.
A view of the South side of the Keep. Note the grass enclosure about 20m
to the right of the wall.
That was our toilet - a long drop. It was quite a challenge if you got the
call of nature in the
hours of darkness as you obviously had to alert the sentries, then make your way
over the wall
and through the grass to the facilities ! One had to be concerned not only
for terrs but the
chance of encountering a snake along the way.
